About
The goal of this website is to encourage and support your individual and personal efforts in discovering your birthright to the powers and benefits of Meditation. The “asc” in front of “meditationmagic.com” stands for Amherst Survival Center, but the content I share on this site doesn’t necessarily reflect the views or opinions of ASC, their staff or board members. The development of this site is mine and mine alone, and the collection of material is a personal offering from me, Sarah. As a volunteer at ASC, who is also an Ordained Minister, I hold a space for Meditation once a month at the Center. As clearly stated in the, “Magic of Meditation” flyer, found at the Center’s front desk; I am not a meditation teacher. I practice meditation daily and I’m grateful for the opening to continue creating a space for Meditation here at the Amherst Survival Center. The articles, videos, books, and films included on this website are from different content creators, authors, and film makers. I pray the info found on this website will serve to fortify and empower your Individual Spiritual Autonomy!

My Spiritual Herstory:
I was raised by a Seventh Day Adventist Mother and a Catholic Father. With family members who also identified as Protestants or Methodists, I was exposed to the variations in Christianity. By my teenage years, I became disillusioned with the Churches’s teachings of Christianity and began a Mahayana Buddhist Practice around age 22. After almost 50 years of practicing Nichiren Shoshu Buddhism, I finally read “Autobiography of a Yogi” by Paramahansa Yogananda, and my Spiritual world changed again.
During the course of those 50 years, I became a Licensed Massage Therapist, which increased my awareness of energies we all encounter when we work with and on others. Learning and working with energies in the modality of Ortho Bionomy, inspired me to enroll in an Interfaith Seminary Training, with a nationally recognized organization of independent chapels. Upon graduation I was ordained an Alliance of Divine Love, ADL Minister in 2004, and assigned Chapel #1449. Although I practiced a Mantra Meditation for more than 49 years, I’m a newbie to Pranayama Meditation, which uses breathing techniques to achieve higher states of consciousness. So, instead of teaching Meditation Techniques, which I am not qualify to do; as an ADL Minister, I can encourage and support your efforts to discover the Ancient Art of Meditation for yourself. This website is created to support your journey in discovering the what, when, where, and how’s of Meditation. Also, I want to extend an open invitation to everyone who already practice Meditation daily, to come and join in holding a space for Meditation once a month at the Amherst Survival Center.
The Amherst Survival Center is a very active place where our community access resources, share in each other's company, add their views to conversations, plus enjoy Great Meals! Quiet is just not our style or our ambience. So, with this in mind, I hold a space for Meditation that can blend with our energetic vibes.
